The IXD file that you see created when send a Team to another iPad is a special file format that contains all details about a team.
This is a format registered with the Interchange iPad app, so that an iPad knows that the file type is meant for Interchange.
The IXD file format is similar to the CSV file format expected by Interchange for a team upload, but contains more fields and doesn't rely on the CSV file format.
